Programs and Services Offered

Programs

Adult Basic Literacy Education:

This program provides a mean for adults and youth 16 years or older to enhance educational skills with basic literacy, workplace literacy, GED preparation, and other services that will assist in employment and competence in one's self.  The program concentrates on language, reading, writing, and math skills on a individual basis.

Testing assessments will be provided by certified teachers followed by goal setting, personal instruction, step-by-step evaluation, and post assessment, all done at the student's own pace.

Tentatively, the ABLE program will begin mid-August, 2004.  The office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, however after-hours arrangements are welcome and encouraged.

Adult Program:

Provides ob training along with other activities and services that result in increased employment and earnings, and increased educational and occupational skills for adults 18 and over.

Displaced Homemaker Program:

This program is designed to provide necessary counseling, training, jobs, services, and health care for displaced homemakers in order that they may achieve independence and economic security.

Skills Training Center:

Offers a sequence of instructional activities that provides students with the academic and technical skills they need to prepare for further education and employment.. Includes computer and office skills training.

Youth Justice Program:

Provides training and employment opportunities for youths 14-18 involved in the youth justice system.

Youth Program:

Youths 14-21 are provided job training along with other activities and services that result in increased employment and earnings, and increased educational and occupational skills.

Services

Referral and Placement

Our employment specialists work with clients in referring them to employment opportunities that match their skills and education. We partner with various agencies in Havre, and it’s surrounding areas to ensure our clients get the training they need to have successful futures.

Paid Work Experience

Employment and Training will pay our clients basic wages, while the employee is being trained. We work to find work experiences that meet our clients interests and by placing them in an environment were they learn skills they can use in future employment.

On the Job Training

OJT’s are similar to a paid work experience, except the client is hired by the employer and Employment and Training pays up to half the wages during the time of training.

Supportive Services

Funding is available to our enrolled clients to ensure their training or education is not interrupted or ended because of financial difficulties. We provide assistance in training costs including tuition, books, fees, uniform, and work clothing.
