Transitional housing |
|
Transitional Housing facilitates the movement of homeless individuals and families to permanent housing within 24 months. This temporary housing is combined with supportive services to enable homeless individuals and families to live as independently as possible. Supportive services maybe be provided by District IV HRDC or coordinated by them and provided by other public or private agencies. These services help promote residential stability, increased skill level and/or income, and greater self-determination. Transitional housing is provided in home at scattered sites. All houses are owned and maintained by HRDC. All five houses were moved from the old radar base and recent work includes: installation of chain link fence at the Jefferson, Grant, and Lincoln houses; attempt at starting lawns at the Lincoln and Wilson houses; and driveway and sidewalk installation at the Wilson houses. 1076 Grant Ave.
The House at 1076 Grant is a 3 bedroom, one bath with kitchen, dining, living and pantry areas. Also, the garage has been closed and insulated to be a playroom/storeroom. There are front and rear entrances, and a driveway on west side of house. It also has chain link fence surrounding the entire yard.
